BASED LONDON (remote working initially)


An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior Communications professional with strong experience across both internal and external communications to join a fast-growing financial services business. You will have one direct report so you will need to operate at both a strategic and tactical level.

You will lead the strategy development and execution of the communications plan across the business. The role will focus on developing and delivering an engaging employee communications plan and managing external communications, to include client communications, marketing communications and media relations.

Internal Communications Strategy

  • Review existing strategy and develop further in line with the company's values
  • Cascade communications from the ExCo to client managers
  • Run communications survey

1. Marketing and PR

  • Supporting Head of Business development with marketing materials and client event planning and invitations
  • To build marketing strategy in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team and key business leaders, including sponsorship opportunities
  • Owning the relationship with PR agencies

2. External Communications Strategy

  • Responsible for all external communications regarding CSR activities, speaker events, sponsored events ensuring tone represents our brand and values appropriately
  • Develop social media presence
  • Build relationships with professional services organisations to co-author thought leadership articles

3. HR led communications

  • Build and establish the Employer and Client Brand identity
  • Deliver, in partnership with the People team, the evolution of the employee engagement strategy leveraging management of the internal website, annual summits, charitable activities (CSR), sponsorships, etc

Experience required

  • Excellent experience in a Communications role gained in the Financial Services (preferably B2B), Investment Management (or related) sector or Professional Services firm (ideally within the FS arm)
  • Experience across both internal and external communications (both are required)
  • Excellent content writing skills
  • External communications experience to include experience in raising brand profile eg.through client communications, marketing communications and media relations
  • Experience in improving employee engagement ideally to include on HR initiatives
  • Experience of improving social media presence
  • Experience in using thought leadership content for marketing purposes
  • Strategic thinker, coupled with the ability to deliver on a tactical level
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain high level of credibility with senior executives
